The Berezin UB was a heavy machine gun used in fixed and flexible mountings on aircraft of the Soviet Union.
The Berezin was one of the three main gun types available to the Soviet Air Force at the time of Operation Barbarossa, and was generally considered to be one of the best weapons in its class, with a better combination of weight and performance than the Browning M2 Machine Gun.
The Berezin weighed 25 kg, measured 135 cm (including the 101 cm barrel), and had a rate of fire ranging from 900 to 1,050 rounds per minute.
